About the geese

We started the Gilted Goose brand to make fun concepts with our friends in mind, and get some of the ideas out of our heads and into the world. Most of these ideas are formed with a specific person in mind, and we try to make a tangible item that would delight that friend. By wearing our designs, you are becoming friends and family and are now a part of our gaggle. Thank you.

You may ask, “why the name Gilted Goose?”. There are a few reasons:

1. We really like Canadian Geese. One of our founders, and his young son spent a large part of the pandemic feeding, watching, and photographing geese. They’re a funny animal.

2. It’s really hard to name something in 2021. All of the domain names are either taken or being squatted upon for profit, and all of the social media handles are GONE. Like Stan Lee, we like a good alliteration so we looked at the G section of the dictionary until we found a combination that sounded like a company, and the socials and domain name weren’t taken. Excelsior!

3. Gilt or gilted means “covered in gold”. We would like to literally and figuratively turn things into gold.
